It was a cold and crisp morning. Storms were stacked up across the pacific and had been pummeling California for weeks. While the low pressure weather sustained, the pressure on me continued to rise. If we didn’t leave soon, the stormy weather threatened to keep us in the dock for too long, and my emotional readiness could give way to the fear that was burning inside of me.
It was December 7, 2001, ten years ago today that I untied my lines, and said goodbye to my secure life: my friends, family, home, career, and income. I didn’t know when, or even if I would return.
I was petrified but couldn’t share the fear with my crew. Robert Louis Stevenson said, “Keep your fears to yourself, but share your courage with others,” so I kept quiet. The last thing I needed was a crew frozen with terror because their captain didn’t have as much knowledge as they thought he had. I was scared yet I went anyway because for me, passion trumps fear. And when you find your passion, it will do the same for you.
As we sailed out the Golden Gate, I cried, sang, laughed, and jumped for joy. Everybody was excited, but I was the only one watching the dream of my life unfold before me. The journey was beginning.
It was happening because I was dedicated to my dream, made a firm decision, was willing to take risks, face my fears, and stay focused on my goal.
I was Unstoppable and made it all the way around the world. Yet, I’m not much different than you are, which proves that you can do it, too. You can be Unstoppable in anything you want to do. But life goes by fast. Years can go by in a blink, and we can get lost in the day-to-day. Untie your lines, whatever they are, and be Unstoppable in the quest for your dreams! You can begin your journey today.
Here’s to Your Unstoppable Life!
Larry

Congratulations Larry on your great success and many accomplishments. 10 years ago today you left everything you knew, set out for great adventures not knowing and returned to tell the tales. You are an inspiration to all of us who have ambitions to create our lives. Bravo!
On this last Sunday, my Mom’s birthday, I drilled 224 holes in part of my field, 8 rows of 28 to start. 11 years in the making, an organic orchard which began as a dream and one my lifes ambitions. A 30 year project that has required patience, persistance and a learning curve beyond all others. Fencing, irrigation and systems of all sorts. It was my choice and desire for such an endeavor and it was how I wanted to spend my time. Hoping to build a working farm from scratch that can lend itself as an eductional tool for all who are interested. I keep working at it, long ways to go. My successes, my failures are all apart of my journey called life. But I am greatfull that I am creating it.
Much admiration to you for following your dreams and returning home safely.
Mark.
Mark, you are leading a big adventurous life! I’m glad to be an inspiration and glad you are following your dreams!
